Set in an original Victorian building, this funky hostel offers dorm rooms with large windows and high ceilings. It is directly opposite Haymarket Train Station and only a 10-minute walk to Princes Street. Guests staying at The Hostel can benefit from modern bunk beds and fresh bedding. Bedrooms feature original artworks by Jade Carrera. Bathroom facilities are shared. Free WiFi is available 24/7 in the hostel’s public areas. Visitors can make use of the communal lounge with digital TV and various board games. There is also a modern kitchen with 2 ovens and a pleasant outdoor area with tables and chairs.

"The location was convenient and the price was affordable for a short stay. The check-in process was smooth and early, and the staff were generally polite and friendly."
"The beds were old and very noisy, constantly creaking, and the mattresses were quite uncomfortable. Thankfully, I only stayed for two nights. The kitchen was disorganised, with no proper space to store personal items, and it clearly needs renovation. There were only three working toilets for the entire floor, and one was out of service, which was inconvenient. The hair dryer was fixed in the common area, which I couldn’t use as a veiled woman. At the same time, using a personal hair dryer in the dorm was not allowed, which made things difficult. Some guests also behaved inappropriately. While this is not entirely the hostel’s fault, better supervision or clearer rules could improve the experience."

"Absolutely everything and possibly the single best hostel in Edinburgh. Staff are extremely friendly. We have a locker to store our stuff. Laundry service is available for a small fee. There is a common lounge area to sit and there are activities everyday. In addition may I add, they have board games too and I played chess with some folks. The staff are above all extraordinarily friendly and lovely. And lots of tables and space to bring and eat your own food with locations nearby. The location is right across the street from the Haymarket train station, tram stop, regular bus stop, airport bus stop and the taxi rank. What more can anyone want? And the prices are extremely reasonable too."

"The staff there act like they’re on a TV show, I think they get free accomodation in exchange for up keeping the hotel. One girl was gagging very loudly because she had to clean the toilet…. Another guy was switching on the lights to find a lighter in the middle of the night. All a bit chaotic but not very respectful of the guests who actually have to pay to be there…"
