Bijām arī 2 stundas izjādē ar kamieli sagaidīt saulrietu, kur smiltīs vārīja kafiju. Bija jaukas vakariņas un brokastis, sevišķi garšoja uz oglēm ceptā maize. Kolosāli bija gulēt un skatīties debesīs uz daudzajām zvaigznēm. Iepazināmies ar citiem ceļotājiem. Lai arī daži mani draugi FB bija šokēti, ka tur paliekam, jo pieraduši pie ērtībām, mums tā bija brīnišķīga pieredze un iespēja iepazīt tuksnesi. Ļoti iesaku."

"Fantastic, authentic-feeling property. If you want a tranquil night or two this is the place to come, away from those who cannot go without excessive tourist infrastructure. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and plenty of sheets/blankets to keep warm at night. Delicious cooked dinner and breakfast exceeds expectations given the remoteness. A short 5 minute wander from the camp and you’ll feel like you have the entire sands to yourself. The staff are very attentive and friendly, happy to chat as long as you are."

"My only tiny nitpick would be that when choosing a twin bed arrangement the beds still have to be placed pretty close together in order for the singular mosquito net to cover both people - could be a minor bit of discomfort for some."

"I picked this place because it was properly in the desert, run by a Bedouin family and with no internet access. I wanted to see the desert sunset, the desert stars and some camels and that’s exactly what I got."

"Beforehand the communication was good. Since we couldn't make it in time for a pick up, we drove to the camp ourselves. With the help of Google, it's really not a problem. You'll need a 4x4 though. The camp is nestled between the dunes. The huts are simple yet comfortable. Dinner as well as breakfast were delicious. Vegetarian and vegan options were available. Rasheed and his family were great hosts."

"The peace and quiet at night, the starry sky and the hospitality. Just being there in the desert having steadily approached it over 3 days travelling from Muscat was an unforgettable experience. Homeid, our host was welcoming and with good English, so communication was easy."

"I would have liked to have been a bit further into the desert, away from other camps. Probably should have read the small print but when booking a "Bedu tribe experience", I wasn't expecting cutlery at meals or flushing (squat) toilets. Not that I was complaining. Not sure why there is a separate charge for collection from Al Wasil when the guide escorts those wealthy enough to have hired 4x4 vehicles to the camp. 13 OMR (about £26) seems a bit steep for no more than half an hour's round trip."

"This camp is in a beautiful location well into the desert. Unlike many of the other camps the comfortable huts fit in with the environment - built of wood and palm leaves and using traditional textiles. Solar power provides enough basic light but otherwise you can experience the magic of the desert night sky. The communal area for eating etc is also very attractive and the food was delicious. The staff were fantastic and all the guests clearly enjoyed the various activities offered - sunset walks, camel rides, trips through the desert by jeep, We learned a lot about the life of the Bedu . I cannot imagine why anyone would want to stay at other camps with facilities like swimming pools and electric light glaring at night. If you want to experience the desert properly then definitely try to book this camp - it was the first to be established and I’m sure it’s the best"

"The hospitality was spectacular. We had a really wonderful experience with the family including the sunset camel ride and the full day jeep safari, both of which gave us great insight into life in the desert. We were glad the camp had huts and not tents as they would be too hot. Early April is very hot - would go in the winter next time."
