"absolutely top ', nice and kind is the owner. We were absolutely excited by breakfast - everything was fresh and homemade and we got the stories about all products which were used. We loved it and we will come with pleasure again. We can only recommended. and like a bonus, we can stay with our small dog, what was the first time in the existence of this hotel. Thank you again. The only drawback was the heater kept switching off & I had to get the staff to turn it on a few times

"Mr. Maurits was really nice and friendly. He offered us a lot of tips from Aruba. He was with us at the biggest supermarket in Aruba. The place was very nice with all you need for a long stay. The pool was perfect."

"The personal attention of the wonderful owner stood out for us. He went out of his way to collect us from the ferry and take us to the airport the next day. He provided us with a fabulous breakfast too - the best we’ve had over our whole trip. We loved meeting him and talking to him."

"Although a 30-40 minute bus ride from Chania town, Summer Lodge is a Fantastic place if you want to be away from the busy places. A peaceful and pretty hotel with a Lovely vibe...There are places nearby to get food and drink and the mostly deserted beach is just a few minutes walk away. The bus stops are close by also - So nothing was ever too much effort. The owners of the property were kind, chatty and helpful. And last but not least the two cats at the hotel were a Joy to be around !! If I get the chance to go back to Chania I would definitely stay at this hotel again !9"

Being near the main road, although handy can be a bit noisy at times but it never bothered me too much. The individual refrigerator in the room was very noisy and I did wake up to it a couple of times.

"Very nice host, trying to accommodate all my requests. Very authentic stay close to the volcano. The volcano and the red glow are visible from the hut."

As all activities and transport are organized by the host, I sometimes had to wait quite long time for the driver to arrive. This was not the hosts fault, but it is important to know when planning a trip to Tanna.
